Focus of Funding

Although our statutes do not restrict us to specific fields or to any particular region of the world, over the years our work has focused on certain areas. This resulted from limitation of funds and the wish to give on-going support to established projects, as well as the aim to fund projects that might positively interact with each other.

Karl Kahane’s Austrian origin, his engagement for the Middle Eastern peace process, and the fact that the KKF is situated in Switzerland, have lead to a concentration on these countries. We have however on occasion funded projects outside these areas, if their aims were close to our hearts, e.g. the Vision Foundation in India - go , Licht für die Welt in Ethiopia - go, Al Kawtar in Marrakech and debra-austria - go.

Equally, the fact that the Foundation’s first project was the Physicians’ Fellowship at the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem has resulted in medical and healthcare projects being one main focus.
